Success Series Webinars

It's time to reserve your spot for the next series of CPTP Success Series Webinars.  They'll be back in October at the regular time and place – Third Thursdays of each month at 1:00 p.m. at the monitor of your choosing.

And this season, we're taking the webinars to the next level!

We'll not only provide you with useful information and some laughs, but we'll also share great job aids and tips to use every day.

Plus,we'd like to invite you to be a guest on our programs.

Did you finish registering?
Good. Now you can read the rest of the email.

Check out the full webinar descriptions at the end of this email. See if you'd like to join in some of these discussions. You can participate in a number of ways:

  • You can email ideas to be included in the webinar to Christee.Atwood@LA.gov
  • You can call in or text us during the show.
  • You can even email the names of any individuals (or yourself) that you think would make great in-studio guests for any of these topics.

So, if you're really good at handling holiday stress, help us out on the November show. If you have the most considerate cubicle neighbor, send his/her name to us so we can find out how they do it. And if you know someone with the best MOJO ever, we want to know.

We want you to be a part of the new season of Success Series Webinars.

OCTOBER 20: Making Peer Conflict Constructive - Conflict is not a “dirty” word. With the right techniques and an attitude of cooperation, we can emerge from disagreements with even stronger relationships. Join us as we share our best ideas for positive conflict management. (And not a single one of these ideas includes boxing gloves!)

DECEMBER 15: The Commandments of Cubicles - We’ve all had cubicle neighbors who have forgotten how to use an indoor voice, who play the one kind of music we avoid at all costs, and who bring so many dishes with extra garlic that our office smells like the Olive Garden. We’ll share basics of cubicle courtesy that will make your life – and the life of those in adjoining cubicles – happier and better smelling too.

JANUARY 19: Managing Difficult Discussions - Whether the other person is a coworker, an employee who reports to you, or a manager you report to, it’s never easy to address challenging topics. In this webinar we’ll share techniques, wording, and even emotional intelligence practices that will make those discussions more constructive.

FEBRUARY 16: Update Your Writing Skills - With email, memos, and letters, chances are you connect more often in writing than you do face-to-face. How does your writing represent you and your agency? Does it follow the ABCs of accuracy, brevity, and clarity? This session will refresh some of those skills we’ve forgotten since our classroom days and will even update you on grammar rules that have changed in the last few years.

MARCH 16: Dealing with Irate Customers - It’s going to happen. No matter how wonderful you are, you’re going to have unhappy customers. How do you handle it when those customers “blow up”? What phrases help? What words make things even worse? Let’s share our best ideas to get through these situations with grace, style, and an absence of curse words.

APRIL 20: Get Your MOJO Back! - It’s time to remember the things that motivate you and bring them back into your everyday life. What’s your passion? What are you good at? What do you want to be when you grow up? We’ll ask some of those questions and help you find ways to bring that excitement into your workplace.
