C.H.R.P. Module 1: Staffing Considerations (1 Day)

This 1-day module will include a discussion of the constitutionally defined purpose of merit hiring, the benefits of different selection procedures, and an in-depth discussion of Chapter 22 and 23 rules.

This class is open to employees working in Human Resources positions only.

TRAINING HOURS: 6.0

C.H.R.P. Module 2: Compensation/Pay Rules and Classification Issues (1 Day)

This 1-day module will include a review of the pay rules in Chapter 6 of the Civil Service rules and the classification issues in Chapter 5 of the rules.

This class is open to employees working in Human Resources positions only.

Training hours: 6.0

C.H.R.P. Module 3: Disciplinary Actions And Civil Service Appeals (1 Day)

This 1-day module will include information on how to take legal disciplinary actions, and an overview of the Civil Service rules regarding appeals and what an agency should know to win a Civil Service appeal.

This class is open to employees working in Human Resources positions only.

C.H.R.P. Module 4: LASERS Agency Training/RRM Workshop (1 Day)

This 1-day workshop taught by staff from LASERS will include updates and details associated with everything from enrollment of a member in the retirement system to guiding an employee through the retirement process. The curriculum will include changes in current legislation; enrollment information; contribution reporting; purchasing service credit; refund of contributions; survivor benefits; various types of retirement disability; early retirement, regular retirement, deferred retirement option plan (DROP) and initial benefit option IBO); eligibility requirements; and rehired retirees. It is recommended by LASERS that this workshop be attended annually.

This class is open to employees working in Human Resources and Payroll positions only.

HR Capstone Workshop (1 Day)

This 1-day instructor-led course is a part of the CPTP SCS Foundations for HR Professionals curriculum. It provides opportunities for HR Professionals to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in the online courses in realistic and practical activities and simulations. It is intended for HR professionals seeking to improve upon the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in a civil service environment.
